The party had gone smoothly with all the cooperation of many helps, teachers who took care of students and watching over in case of any accident happen and any other inappropiate behaviors.

Participants in Halloween make-up contest.

All the people who attended the party had to pay 50 baht each in order to get inside the roundhouse which we turned into 'disco' under the theme of Halloween , decorated with balloons, pumpkin heads, skeleton, and disco ball which quite entertained people and the DJ was very successful to get everyone enjoy the song.

What have I gained ?
The food and drink booth was very successful as well, as people getting thirsty from dancing and socialize, we sold all the pizza and drinks to the last one and the tickets were sold more than we expected .

Also the dance competition was very good at attracting people, people love watching skilled dancer gives them a show, and also the costume competition had been receiving great feedbacks and everyone had put their votes on which we felt thank you for you all.

Halloween party has passed with all the helps of everyone, most of them are from student guild but we appreciated all the helps from other students as well, I hope we all could make this great event happen again next year.

Croston House Walk

Croston House Walk at The Regents : Charity walk for uneducated kids [09/10/09]

Croston House Walk is a charity to raise needed fund for Croston's House Children Home in Lamphun in northern Thailand. This home is for children who have no family support and have nowhere else to live. And I volunteered to give help to this activity.

Croston House Walk took place in 9th of October, 2009 which all the Regent's students have to attend if possible. The distance was 15 miles in total and have 3 breaks during the walk.

I had volunteered to look after the children who had been walking along the people since this charity was established. Mr.Croston and all the kids arrived the day before Croston House Walk. My job were basically to interpret for all Thai kids who don't speak English, to provide the kids any convenience we could afford, and to look after one particular kid during the walk.

Me and the other volunteers had to prepare activities which are suitable for kids who will be spending a night before the walk, We decide to divide in 2 groups, boys and girls.

I took care of all the boys and I left the girl to the girls volunteer. I offered so many various activities but all the boys seemed to be loving football the best so I let them play it while I was a referee to keep the play clean and clear. Later that night I led them to the boarding where they will be staying and showed them where everything be.

The morning of the Croston House Walk, All the volunteers had to get up first and make sure all the kids are ready then we brought them to the registration. We started the walk at 9 with one kid to each volunteer. The

walk went smoothly without any major obstacle, everyone of us pull out all of their effort to reach to the destination regardless to the distance and exhaustion.

After almost 3 hours of walk, we stopped for a lunch at a local museum and refreshed ourself a a bit then headed off to the final destination which was about 5 kilometers away. We were almost there and we could see the roof of the destination standing among the tree waiting for everyone to reach.

We finally reached the destination which was a country club relieving. After we all got to the country club, they will be taking pictures of each particular group, global connection students, boarders and the whole school at the end. No one could feel the rain while we were taking a picture because it was a good way of alleviation, all the tiredness had gone replaced by the joy from reaching the goal. Not so long after the pictures were taken, the buses came and brought us back to school.

Throughout the walk, this has been a great time for me, to be honest, I didn't like to be associating with kids at all because of their immaturity and irrationality but after I've seen these kids walking with us without complaining a single word, trying to reach the goal with blisters on their ankle and sweating like we all wouldn't to. I found out that theses kids were different , they were more patient than I thought. They walked like we walked, they waited like we waited and they prepared like we prepared, they were thought to be like this since they were very young, I learned so many new things from these kids, Rock-hard mind and their preseverance.
